My interests

My career has been driven by a desire to contribute to better public policy and I understand how good quality research can support decision-makers in any organisation. That means analysis that is rigorous but also clear and communicated well.

My particular expertise is in climate and energy policy and economics. I also have a broad range of experience in natural resources (including fisheries), environmental regulation, market instruments and environmental finance. However, my skills are transferable and I frequently work on topics outside of environment and climate.

I have a keen interest in data science and in exploring how research can harness digital technologies to gain and communicate insights.

I am happy to be approached regarding proposals outside of my core interests. I have academic training in physics, environmental economics and software engineering; and a broad interest across policy, economics, business, technology and the social and natural sciences.

Further information

I can be engaged as a consultant for a whole project or on an ad hoc basis. I offer reliable proven excellence in economics/policy analysis, data analysis and written communication. See more on my approach or please feel free to contact me with any questions or proposals.
